It's the year 2009 #pastfuturetechnology.
In all honesty, I never had a lot of Toshiba's in my collection until I got this truckload of 'au' phones in one package. In it, I found models I had never seen nor heard of and I got really excited.
Personally, I had always written off KDDI au as a second-choice network, but over the last year I really changed my few on this once-CDMA network and have gotten to understand that some of the most powerful devices and concepts were actually launched on it. Even low-end devices feel premium on this network.
Today's gadget isn't necessarily super-advanced or revolutionary, but it is a stunning flip-phone that at first sight might not inspire much, but when taking a closer look has got overall a great balance of technology and style.
The T003 is a CDMA2000 handset which also enables CDMA global roaming. While this excludes most of Europe, it is just fine around Asia and the Americas. With a solid build quality, the device feels sturdy and premium, and it is yet light and very slim to fit easily into pockets and clutches.
Flipping it open it reveals a 3" large and bright TFT WVGA LCD, with a relatively large keypad that is medium-firm to operate. The camera is perhaps the biggest let-down and is 'only' 3.2Mpx, but it takes decent photos which I presume are meant to be mostly for social media.
LISMO music, NFC mobile wallet, 1Seg digital TV, GPS maps, pre-installed JIBUN bank app and microSD expansion are all on board, so the phone covers the everyday needs of the modern feature phone user.
For me personally, I really just like the look and colour balance on it. What do you guys and girls think?
