It's the year 2010 #pastfuturetechnology.
We've seen some great Sony Ericsson devices on here and this is not quite the last one yet.
The SO005 is a CDMA 1X WIN handset with Global Passport CDMA roaming and WI-FI support. As a phone, it's pretty much run-of-the-mill. It comes with an 8Mpx camera, 1Seg, NFC Mobile Wallet, a large 3.2" LCD and is waterproof up to IPX5/X7.
What DOES make this phone so special is its super-sleek design. The navy/purple colour which I bought is very pleasing to the eye, but what's more is the fact that the plastic is somewhat translucent. You can see parts of the internals when you look closely.
Its LCD screen is gorgeous and ideal for watching TV and Movies. That's where the dual-flip mode comes in handy, very similar to what Panasonic have been showing off.
Aside from that, there really isn't much else to report on this one. Given it's a CDMA phone, it is compatible with the high-speed 1xEV-DO MC-Rev.A standard – what a mouthful – which is up to 9.2Mbps downlink and around 5.5Mbps uplink. Middle of the road when compared to HSDPA. And that's all folks!
