It's the year 2007 #pastfuturetechnology.

Initially, 3G handsets were big and bulky especially when stood next to a 2G device of similar specifications (ie. The Motorola Razr). But as technology is evolving, handset manufacturers and their suppliers are reducing the dimensions of the hardware so that the new generation of mobile devices aren't just highly functional, but also visually appealing.

NEC's N905iμ released by NTT Docomo is just 12.9mm at its slimmest. This dual-band W-CDMA (3G HSDPA) and tri-band GSM global roaming device comes with a 2Mpx camera, 3.0" LCD at 480 x 854px and 327ppi density, NFC Wallet, microSD card support and loads more.

Even to this day I consider this NEC series one of the best looking devices I've ever owned, and I never quite understood why this particular design never made it to its overseas i-mode territories where NEC was a frontrunner of the technology itself.

If I'd ever want a re-make of a vintage device, it'll be this one!
