It's the year 1994 #pastfuturetechnology.
I'll be perfectly honest – other than knowing that this phone is a PDC device from 1996, I virtually cannot find any information about what it actually does.
Some have said that the N103 is polyphonic, and perhaps that means the N201 could also be. There's no way to test that, as the phone is in Japanese only and I have no idea how to navigate it. There's also no way to activate it since it doesn't operate on GSM (not that there's a SIM card slot to begin with?).
So, first impressions – it's fat. Some might also say 'phat' because it's pretty rad to have this dinophone in my collection. Honestly, the design is pretty rad and consistent with flip phones of the years to come. Also, given it's from 1996, it's just slightly thicker than the 1st and 2nd generation 3G devices a decade after it (see comparison against 903SH).
So here we have it. Perhaps the oldest phone I've ever owned.
