It's the year 2009 #pastfuturetechnology.
I remember the first time I stumbled across the N-09A online. My annoyance at Japan's stubborn approach to network locking their mobile devices only grew higher.
Speaking purely of personal taste, I consider this perhaps the most stylish flip phone that NEC – or as a matter of fact any manufacturer – have ever produced.
The N-09A comes jam packed with features too. Equipped with a large 3.2" WVGA TFT LCD, 8Mpx camera with image stabilisation and face detection, Felica NFC Mobile Wallet, 1Seg TV receiver, Documents Viewer, microSDHC support, Omakase lock and Face Recognition biometric authentication amongst much more.
For improved coverage, this device offers dual-mode 3G connectivity (W-CDMA 2100Mhz and 800Mhz), and for travel it supports tri-band GSM in the typical 900/1800/1900Mhz configuration.
One word on the external look and feel. The three finishes - Chrome, Wood and Red Leather - really make this device a stunner to look at. Taking a closer look at the keypad, one will find a plethora of light show options to really turn up the uniqueness of this device.
I hope you enjoy this device as much as I am, it really is one of a kind.
